Superb graduated set of 3 toby jugs called the snuff taker by Allertons.The condition of these is one of exellence,you will not find a better set.NO PHOTOGRAPH CAN DO THESE JUSTICE.They were made in late Victorian times by Allertons,the well known potters. The tallest Toby is over 9 inches and very impressive,so they would look splendid out on show on a window shelf,dresser etc. Don't forget Victoriana is coming back fast, it is out with dreary minimalism and back to vibtant colour.Not before time either,let us bring colour and laughter back into our homes.The Toby boys are lustred on the edges,and any collector would love these,no damage,no repairs, just a tiny paint loss on one.Priced at £195 the set.

Victorian pastille burner.This is a mint condition Mid Victorian pastille burner cottage,known as Swan cottage.This is the earlier pattern, as these cottages were produced for quite some time.This little gem has an arched firehole in the back for the lit taper,mixed with herbs,it also has a working chimney with a central hole,the later ones only had the slatted windows.The condition is near mint,it is beautiful.if you look under a magnifier you will see surface crazing,but you will not find a better example.The paint is not flaking off as some later ones show.c1850-60. £85.

STAFFORDSHIRE ~~VICTORIAN FLATBACK/MONEY BOX.This is a wonderful rare Victorian Staffordshire flatback of a "posh" 3 storey house,with a little Spaniel and kennel on the front lawn.This item is so unusual as it also is a money box,and,as the only way to remove the money would be by smashing the item,that is why this is so rare as obviously not many survived.The condition is really excellent,it has been well looked after since it was made in c1850.You will not find a better example. £129.

Lovely pair of early Victorian Staffordshire Comforter Spaniels,made c1835 - 1850,these are the better types that were made with the free front leg.They show the bitch and the dog,the bitch always a bit smaller.The condition is one of excellence. They measure about 9 inches tall.The lustrous spots are copper & green,another sign of the older Staffordshire pottery dogs.Note the lapping lustre on their heads. £165 the pair.

 Staffordshire cottage.This one was known as Swan Cottage and has enjoyed a large following over the years with collectors.It is fairly hard to find now in good condition.This example from Mid Victorian days is a superb item,very primitive,edged bocage ~~~ so,as it should be,nothing highbrow, just a good old fashioned Victorian Staffordshire pastille burner.Item for sale at £88.

Large,solid WW1 period ornamental Dog and Child.These old ornaments invoke memories of yesteryear -- the little girl smiling as she stands alongside her guardian dog.This one is stamped by the OP pottery and also bears the Registration mark.The condition is very good, as often these large ornaments are badly damaged.The small plaque on the front says "Good Companions"..£105 to include the post in GB only.Overseas buyers please ask for a quote.

Absolutely superb solid silver topped Deep Blue Jasper teapot by William Adams of Staffordshire, who were very famous and high quality potters.Silver hallmarked for Birmingham 1923 exactly.This is such a lovely item.£75. Grandpa and Grandma Victorian Figurines that are well detailed .Grandma is holding her pet puppy dog in a shawl,just like a baby. They are wearing old fashioned wire spectacles, and were made in Germany around 1870,this is marked in script on both items.Very good condition £69 the pair.

ROYAL DOULTON CHARACTER JUGS - A selection of these jugs as listed below,all in perfect condition.

Majolica jug.This is a very old English Victorian jug,circa 1835-45.The inside of the jug is coloured peuce.The outer scenes are of nesting birds in a tree,the handle serving as a branch.The jug has a couple of old base chips that have been filled in at some time.The rim,the handle and the main body of the jug are fine.We mention all faults for accuracy of description..£35 GB pounds.

Another larger Victorian cup and saucer showing Robins,this cup and saucer has an orange tinselled edge.Possibly Welsh pottery.£29

Large Victorian Staffordshire Majolica jug.The inside of the jug is coloured Peuce as was the usual colour of Majolica around 1850 and the base is coloured in yellow ochre..The relief moulding shows an Eagle.The colours are mainly browns and drab green.Overall the jug is pretty good in condition, it does have some inevitable age crazing near the handle and underneath.A bargain for the English Majolica collector..£75

Beautiful Japan/Gaudy Teaset, with 5 items.Made by the Britannia Pottery of Staffordshire.This set is in very good condition, the teapot has been used but is not damaged at all.This would be a very nice addition to the Japan pattern collecters.£165 set of 5.

Victorian Pottery wall stand (consel), showing a cherub underneath the plinth,all Gilded.This is in very good condition, and would give a room an elegant feel with this attached to a wall.You could place one of your Golden Oldies on top for display. There are 2 hoops in metal to hang from. £60

Over 1150 colour pictures display the dazzling variety of ceramic wares produced at the famous Cauldon pottery Works in Stoke-on-Trent by Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co and Cauldon. Over one hundred years of Staffordshire pottery production and changing decorative styles are displayed, including table and tea sets decorated in blue and white, the famous 'chariot' pattern, multiple coloured transfer prints: ornate majolica centrepieces, jardinières, and garden seats: elegant fine bone china ; earthenware ewers, basins, toilets; and decorative tiles.
The definitive text provides a detailed history of Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co which later became Cauldon, descriptions of the wares and the artists who produced them, a detailed bibliography, numerous appendices, and an index. Current market values are found in the captions. This book will be an important reference for all concerned with Staffordshire pottery.
