POTTERY. This large jug is in the NAUTILUS pattern and was made in the
Coombes and Holland Period of production.One big problem ! -- there
is a crack from the top to the bottom,right down one side that has
been completely sealed.If you wanted to show this jug on it's good side,

old Victorian teapot and stand in great condition.It is highlighted in
silver lustre for effect.The pottery was the Lingard pottery of Staffordshire,England.It

English Torquay ware Hat pin holder of a good chunky size. These old West
Country holders are so sought after in this great condition.Torquay/motto
ware is friable if kept in damp conditions ,but this one is very strong.The

willow plate.A lovely Dinner sized plate impressed DILLWYN in a semi horseshoe
on the reverse.Many years back, a very old Swansea collector said
that there are 30 apples always on a Swansea willow pattern.Well he must
have been unable to count as this one has 31 apples,but I suppose he was
very close!! £75 |

Swansea pottery Copper lustre jug.This is a very large early Victorian
lustre jug,decorated with enamels over the glaze.The handle shows the
famous Serpent or Swan "biting" the jug.This wonderful jug measures
9inches tall and is in really good condition for the age,plus the glaze
is very lustrous and shining.These old lustre jugs were made for the working
class people as a form of "illumination" in their homes during
the dark and long Winter evenings. In those far off days,only candles
and the firelight would brighten up the kitchens and parlour rooms ...
These lustrous jugs,sitting on dressers or hanging on hooks from the ceilings,
would radiate a warmth and cosiness , just like real copper does.They
still have this wonderful effect today,buy one and see! circa 1850 For
sale at £135 GB pounds. |

Golden Oldie.A Jackfield red clay teapot of a good size prettily decorated
with flowers in enamel paints.These teapots were firm favourites with
the Barge folk, these were the British people who lived on the canals
in their long barge boats,plying their trades up and down the hundreds
of miles of canals that were very important "highways" in Victorian
times, much as the motorways are in our modern times.There is a small
chip repair to the lid, but that is all. c1870... £45 GB pounds. |

in the polka pattern.The jugs were made in Staffordshire,England around
1845-50,the larger jug measures 8.5inches to the top of the handle and
the base diameter is 5inches across,the shorter jug measures 7inches
to the top of the handle and the base is 4inches across.They are decorated

-1850)This dog stands nearly 13inches tall and has very kind and appealing
eyes.The condition is again very strong - he has a couple of minor faults,

2 of these jugs impressed with Swansea workmans backstamps.This jug
stands on 4 short feet,and one of the feet has an inner crack,that
is not visible from the outside,it is below the base anyway.The outer
rim edge and body decoration,is coloured with the usual Swansea Chocolate
brown.A nice little jug for the Welsh Collector £85. |

flow blue and Sunderland lustre in relief.The jug was made in c1840,so
early Victorian.It is not perfect having a rim chip (repaired) and a 2inch
hairline down the rear side of the jug,near the handle,although the handle
itself is perfect.This jug is borderline Gaudy Welsh,looks fresh as a
daisy with no staining, and still shows so beautifully out on display.Of
a good size,holds water safely for displaying fresh flowers.£68

pair of Artdeco,Staffordshire,England, Blue ground fairy plates.There
is one fault a back rim chip not visible from the front of the plate.Should
be on the Artdeco section but thought they would look nice on this page

lustrous glaze that has not come out very clear in the picture. |

set of late Victorian graduated jugs.The jugs have an Oriental transfer
pattern going all around and not just on one side.The condition of the
3 jugs is really very good,the smaller one has some minor staining from
useage, but china Jugs were all the householders had in those days and
of course the items were constantly in use.There is no damage or restoration
on any of the 3 jugs at all.They will make a glorious display either standing
on a ledge etc or hanging from hooks.They were made by the Britannia pottery
