This is a Victorian figurine of a lady on her horse.I believe the lady is one of the characters in Welsh History called "The Ladies of Llangollen".They were 2 highly educated  Irish/Anglo spinsters who led very eccentric lives and they rode out every day being keen horsewomen. They lived in a beautiful house called Plas Newydd. Many well known people stayed at the house with them including poets such as Wordsworth and Josiah Wedgwood, the Duke of Wellington etc.In their latter days the King granted them a pension as they had little money of their own. This figure bought in Wales in very good condiiton. £65.

Click HERE for larger PictureReally beautiful Blush ivory Trios, consisting of Cup,saucer and plate. All hand painted. The set was made in 1880's by G.Procter of Staffordshire a very good pottery of that time. They later became known as the Gladstone China Co.These pretty tea sets must have looked so beautiful all laid out on crisp white lace cloths, when time was measured by the sedate clip clop of the elegant horse and carriage, so very far removed from our modern, day hectic lives..(Many things have improved with the passage of time ,but there again on reflection some things most certainly have not). The price of each trio is £38 per set. These beautiful sets are well over 100 years old.
