ROYALTY.
1.Superb Queen Victoria jug to celebrate the 60th year of her reign in 1897.There are 2 printed sides, and there is no damage. A scarce item as the years pass by,but Queen Victoria and pre WW2 Royalty items are making a huge comeback, we notice this more than many due to our trading circle. These items also make a good investment if chosen wisely. £75.

2.Beautiful Doulton Queen Victoria Commemorative mug in blue and white transfer. There is a lot of information on this mug,it was presented in 1897 by the Mayor of Grimsby.Even then Royal Doulton was expensive,so perhaps only the Mayors favourites were given one each of these.Lovely clear mark underneath, the usual high Royal Doulton Standard. £95.

3.Superb mug designed by the Art Deco doyen of the day Dame Laura Knight. We have been very lucky recently, inasmuch as we have acquired 2 of these rare mugs, one already listed for King George the 6th.. Now we offer this slightly rarer mug for King Edward the 8th (notice the past tense) who abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson the American divorcee. This rocked the British throne to it's roots,as Edward the 8th (formerly the then Prince of Wales) was always very popular with the ladies and he could have married any one of many unattached European Princesses. He was very handsome and it was once said that he was the Worlds most eligible bachelor.A sad but true story.Did Wallis do right by him? it seems she led a fast and racey lifestyle post marrying the ex King, so it appears that she never changed... This mug for sale at £99

4.This is a most delightful small glass plate to celebrate Queen Victorias Golden Jubilee in 1887.It is oval in shape and is about 7inches long. The condition is excellent,a little gem and rare.. £65.

5.Another lovely small plate to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887. A dear little plate in great condition,no damage at all, just perfect. £65.

SWANSEA new additions

SWANSEA
1.SUPERB 1790 CAMBRIAN PEARLWARE JUG.If you have ever wanted to own a REAL rarity from the Cambrian pottery then here it is.It is a large, capacious jug that was bought from a private collection being sold in the Principality.I will refer you to the Morton Nance book,to the early days of potting in Swansea. The plates opposite page 35 show these very early blue transfer ware jugs dated 1790.You can see that this jug dates to well over 200 years. The condition is excellent, the pearlware body giving a slight bluish hue as it should do -- there is a slight star hairline underneath and nothing else.No restoration at all,no chips,no cracks. You will never see another jug like this only in a Museum. We are providing 2 photographs for you to see both sides. For sale at £650 including registered post in GB only.Sorry this item cannot be sold overseas...

2.YNYSMEUDWY (YNYSMEDW) (YMP).A beautiful Mid Victorian Ynysmeudwy flow blue jug that was their hallmark. This is the well known "triple cherub" pattern with the high handle (about 7 inches tall). The condition is excellent, and we would be very pleased if this jug sold in the Principality. For sale at £149.Sorry this item cannot be sold overseas.

ART DECO
1.Fabulous hand painted striped jug, dateing from 1930.It has a script name underneath but we cannot read it,apart from that it says Made in England.A large jug that is very clean, the glaze superb -- this item would be excellent in any Deco collection as it comes straight out of the 1920-30's period. The lines are superb. £69.

GLASSWARE
1.Very large studio glass vase or it may be earlier going back to the Artdeco period. This item would "make" a room, as it is very striking. The condition is excellent. As it is very heavy the post would be £15.The vase is for sale at £68.

SWANSEA WARE.

1. SWANSEA JUG.Good sized Cambrian Pearlware jug made in 1810.These jugs are now becoming rare to find but this is a good example. The swirls of hand painted enamels commonly found on Cambrian wares, although many jugs may have lost most of the colour. The famous "chocolate brown" edging is still good. This well documented jug that all Swansea collectors will instantly recognise is in good condition, slight age marks - commensurate with 200years,is to be expected.Lovely on display. £110.Free post in the UK..

GAUDY WELSH

1.Large Gaudy Welsh Oyster pattern plate. This is such a nice plate as the colours are so vivid and no fade or chipping at all. Also it is an early example c1850,would look excellent on display.£55

2. Small Gaudy Welsh Plate in the Oyster pattern.A beautiful little plate as the colours are superb.c1860. £29.

3. Very old Gaudy Welsh Sucrier or covered sugar bowl in the Colandine pattern. This sucrier has no damage but it has some brown staining on the outside...This has emanated through sitting on an open rack Welsh Dresser for over 140yrs.I have seen plates so stained through drawing up the oils in the varnish of the dressers, also absorbing the chimney and cooking smoke, depending on the siting of the dresser. Some Gaudy welsh was kept behind glass so you would not see this on those items. However a lovely primitive item in good condition.£48..

MILITARIA

1. An old Regimental Bugle that is carrying the crest of the 19th Hussars, the Princess of Wales Own.This crest/badge of the Elephant was worn during the early part of the 1900's.Lovely item for the keen collector. £69.

1.CRANBERRY.Lovely old Vase in the prettiest of pinks - so rich!.The vase is hand blown, and "bottom" weighted for safety,so it would not knock over easily - extremely well balanced..It obviously was made in Stourbridge or one of the top factories in GB.Very pretty frill around the top,and the condition is one of excellence. There is no rough pontil mark to cut your hands with, so that shows the item was made in a top factory, as only the best ground the marks down. 10-11 inches tall, a big, beautiful vase. £95.

1.STAFFORDSHIRE large, beautiful flow blue double handled plates. These are truly lovely, and they were made by Ridgways/Master Victorian Potters.A lot of beautiful porcelain, wrongly attributed by Museums to Rockingham, have proven to have been made by Ridgways, such was the quality of the latters work.
The backstamp on these plates is Opaque Granite China by W.R &Co beneath the Vicotrian crown. The pattern name, in a cartouche, is HongKong. At this time c1840's to Mid Victorian, there was an inordinate amount of interest in anything Oriental - and the Oriental patterns were avidly copied by the best British and European Potteries.

1.Excellent Swansea Cambrian pottery jug clearly impressed DILLWYN,SWANSEA.This jug is known as the Swansea Twig handle octagonal jug as is illustrated in E.Morton Nances epic book on Nantgarw and Swansea Pottery and Porcelain. The Cambrian Pottery produced some of the most famous Welsh Pottery and Porcelain during the early part of the 1800's under the ownership of the Dillwyn family. This jug dates from that period of ownership..The enamels on these jugs are mostly found to have flaked somewhat, but unusually this example's paintwork is more or less pristine. The jug ,measures 6inches tall, and they were originally made in 6 sizes - this one would fall into the middle section. If you collect Swansea jugs then this would make a splendid addition to your collection.£155.

1.Ancient YNYSMEDW JUGS. A splendid pair of Ynysmedw jugs dateing c1850.Ynysmedw as all Welsh pottery collectors know is now as sought after as the Great Cambrian,Glamorgan or Llanelly potteries. Both jugs came from a private collector who is dispersing the collection accumulated over many years..The patterns are the sheet patterns such as the Hawthorn or sea weed..There is no backstamp but we have bought very similar jugs in the past and they were stamped YMP.There is no doubt in our minds as to the origins of these lovely jugs.Measuring 7-8inches tall, having had no restoration at all,the only fault being a very minor ancient surface inner chip.£100 each jug.VERY RARE!

SILVERWARE

3.Sturdy pair of Mid Victorian candlesticks measuring 9inches tall.Candlesticks were very important in days gone by as the only real source of light.Almost unimaginable by todays standards, as we only have to switch on an electric light! - The vast amount of work entailed in keeping the candlewicks trimmed, the sticks polished bright and shining would have taken hours and hours, but, every good housekeeper ensured that these laborious chores were done daily to ensure that their cottages were as clean and bright as possible. These candlesticks £48 the pair
